An Internet of Things-Based Home Telehealth System for Smart Healthcare by Monitoring Sleep and Water Usage: A Preliminary Study

Recently, the Internet of Things (IoT) has attracted wide attention from many fields, especially healthcare, because its large capacities for information perception and collection. In this paper, we present an IoT-based home telehealth system providing smart healthcare management individuals, older people. Each client node is mainly composed electronic water meter that records user’s daily usage, in order to analyze their living patterns lifestyle as well ascertain well-being, unobtrusive sleep sensor monitors physiological parameters during sleep, such heart rate (HR), respiratory (RR), body movement (BM), states on bed or outside bed. The collected data can be transmitted a remote centralized cloud service by wireless gateway analyzing pattern rhythm users. Furthermore, periodic feedback results provided users themselves, family health advisers. study, was total 18 subjects one year evaluate effectiveness proposed system. By rhythm, preliminary indicate suggest potential regarding improvement quality life (QoL) people promotion health.
